Sportfishing Packages

While staying at the Lodge, we make world-class sportfishing easy. There is no thrill that matches that of fishing in Alaska’s waters. Crystal clean air, impressive scenery and spirited fish enhance this memory of a lifetime.

Your fishing boat is made for a day of adventure, with ample deck space and a comfortable cabin. The experienced Captain and crew are friendly and helpful. Loaded with only a small group and your gear for the day, you enjoy quality uncrowded fishing.

The area around Glacier Bay is home to the largest sportfish in Alaska, the huge Pacific Halibut. Anglers covet this fish, not only for its impressive size, but also for its delicious white meat. Average halibut range from 25 to 50 pounds, but many are caught in the 100 to 200 pound class. The largest halibut caught on sport gear near the Park weighed more than 400 pounds!

For salmon lovers, this area also lies directly along the migratory routes of Alaska’s five major salmon species. Tremendous schools of salmon—Chinook (King), Coho (Silver), Pinks (Humpies), Sockeye (Reds) and Chum (Dogs)— crowd Icy Strait on their cyclical runs to spawn in the surrounding streams.

Come by yourself, or gather a few friends, for some fabulous offshore fishing.
